Kindale Developmental Association has the pleasure of serving people with diverse abilities in the North Okanagan and Columbia Shuswap for 60 years!  Kindale is a non-profit, charitable, community based and community supported Society.  Kindale serves people, their families and caregivers through a variety of programs and services.  People gain confidence while learning, working socializing and volunteering in their local communities.

Programs and services currently offered by Kindale are driven by the personal centered plan which focuses on the person's hopes, wishes and dreams.  These include customized and supported employment, residential and independent living options, community activities, recreation, social inclusion and skills that help them succeed and live a full and happy life.

Kindale plans to use the funds raised from this tournament to enhance our recreational activities (golfing, swimming and outdoor adventures) which in turn promotes healthy living.  For more information about Kindale, please visit our website, or find us on facebook, twitter, pinterest, instagram or YouTube.

In 1980, Special Olympics BC started out with two weekends of games and about 500 participants.  Thirty-seven years later, we are providing year-round, high-quality sports programs and competitions for more than 4,600 athletes in 57 communities around the province, with the vital assistance of more than 3,700 trained, dedicated volunteers.

Special Olympics BC - Vernon runs 15 different sport programs year-round and one youth program specifically for children between the ages of 7-11 years old.  These sports programs give athletes the opportunity to gain sport skills and improve their overall health while enjoying training that could take them to competitions at local, regional, national, and international levels.  However, the benefits from Special Olympics BC go well beyond the basics:  Our athletes experience joy and acceptance, cultivate friendships and self-confidence, and fell empowered to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.

The funds raised from this tournament will assist with covering the costs associated with sports programs including the purchase of new equipment, facility rentals, team uniforms and equipment and taking our athletes to sports ompetitions throughout the province.  www.sobcvernon.ca.
